Airplants (Tillandsia)

Specifications Care Instructions
Care Place airplants in filtered, indirect light preferably within 6 feet of a bright window. Airplants may burn in direct sunlight. NOTE: Can be placed in a north or east facing window.

Since airplants take in their nutrients through their leaves it is important to thoroughly soak your plant every 1-2 weeks in temperate water (more often in hot, dry environments and less in cool, humid ones). Let your plant dry out completely upside down and then place back in the terrarium.

Alternatively, you can either mist or sprinkle a few drops of water on the plant weekly in dry environments. And by misting your plant it will help raise humidity in the glass.

Enjoy!

Light Bright light, avoid too much direct sun.
Tip! When watering your terrarium use a turkey baster or eye dropper to control the amount of water and not disturb the landscape.
Water The amount of water varies depending on the size of airplant.

Cacti & Succulents

Specifications Care Instructions
Care First, neglect your terrarium! Water lightly only after it gets dry once every 3-4 weeks, depending on conditions.

NEVER OVERWATER! The key is to watch your terrarium closely until you understand it’s drying pattern. Too much watering can be worse for the plants than too little. Place in a bright area; some direct sunlight is fine. You should have enough light to read by. When the plants get as big as you want, pinch off the newest growth to encourage bushier growth. Water at the base of the plant and not the leaves because they can easily rot.

Avoid fertilizer. As the nutrients get used up the plant’s growth will slow down, helping to keep them under control.

Enjoy!

Tropicals

Specifications Care Instructions
Care First, neglect your terrarium! Water lightly only after it gets dry once every week or two, depending on conditions.

NEVER OVERWATER! The key is to watch your terrarium closely until you understand it’s drying pattern. Feel the soil about an inch or so near a plant, if the soil is damp, it isn’t time to water yet. Too much watering can be worse for the plants than too little. Place in a bright area, but not in direct sunlight. You should have enough light to read by. When the plants get as big as you want, pinch off the newest growth to encourage bushier growth.

Lidded Terrariums

Specifications Care Instructions
Care First, neglect your terrarium! Maintain a moist, humid environment, but NEVER OVERWATER!

The key is to watch your terrarium closely until you understand it’s drying pattern. Too much water can be worse than too little. You may need to add small amounts of water as your terrariums adjusts to the new environment.

If the terrarium builds up too much condensation, simply open the lid until the moisture clears up and then close again. Ensure an even moisture is maintained at all times.

It is also beneficial to open the lid of the terrarium once a week for an hour or an afternoon to let in fresh air.

Enjoy!
